Success with automated production systems at JEC World in Paris

The international composites industry gathered at the Fill Machine Engineering exhibition stand. multi layup system the center of interest.

Swift, precise and suitable for the widest variety of applications – these are the special traits with which the multi layup system from Fill won over visitors at the JEC trade fair. Above all, representatives from the aviation and automotive industries expressed a great deal of interest in this innovation from Upper Austria. Fill Machine Engineering was exhibiting at the leading trade fair for plastics processing and machining for the eighth time and has now become an established name in this field.

Paris/Gurten, 23 March 2017 – This year yet again, the Fill exhibition stand at JEC World from 14 to 18 March 2017 was a popular meeting place for international trade visitors. "All the important OEMs and tiers from the automotive and aviation industries were guests on our stand," says a very satisfied Wilhelm Rupertsberger, Manager of the Plastics Competence Center, about the company´s successful trade fair appearance. In recent years, the Fill exhibition stand at JEC World has established itself as a very popular communication platform, where customers, partners, and friends of the company can meet up to exchange information and network over a refreshing cocktail in a relaxed atmosphere.

Trade fair highlight: multi layup system – also for thermoplastic tapes
With the multi layup system, Fill presented an innovation at the world’s largest composites trade fair, which aroused a huge amount of interest among the exhibition visitors.  The newly developed multi layup system enables extremely swift compilation of semi-finished fiber composites, thereby meeting the prerequisite for high component production rates. Integration in an injection-molding process is also possible thanks to the short laying time. In addition, maximum material utilization is guaranteed by laying with very little waste. The benefits are obvious: speed, precision, and suitability for the widest variety of materials (thermoplastic tapes, prepreg material, dry fibers with binders). The multi layup system ensures a significant reduction in cycle time with materials that can be recycled subsequently.

Longstanding expertise guarantees customers a competitive advantage
"Productivity and process reliability are the decisive factors in the plastics industry. For decades now, we have been developing and producing machines and systems for lightweight composite construction. With automation of composite processes – from the fiber to the tested component – we have reached the next stage of development," explains Wilhelm Rupertsberger.
