Gurten – the epicenter of casting technology

More than 300 attendees and around 40 exhibitors gathered at Fill Machine Engineering for the 61st Austrian Foundry Conference.
On April 27 and 28, 2017, the Innviertel town of Gurten was the center of the German-speaking foundry world. The Austrian Foundry Institute, the Faculty of Foundry Science at Leoben University of Mining, and the Austrian Association of Foundry Engineers held the 61st Austrian Foundry Conference in the Fill Future Dome. With a record attendance, around 300 experts (casters and their customers, suppliers, friends, and sponsors) and 40 exhibitors from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Slovenia gathered to engage in knowledge transfer and networking.
Gurten, 08 May 2017 The conference focused on the theme of "modern foundry processes to meet the challenge of lightweight construction". Numerous plenary talks and technical lectures by distinguished experts highlighted new and innovative solutions.
The 40 exhibitors presented their products covering all areas of modern casting technology. The convivial "caster soirée" on April 27 at the Loryhof in Wippenham ensured that the sociable part of the conference was by no means neglected.
International technology leader
Fill develops and supplies machines and systems for aluminum and iron foundries. The new digital world of work – opportunity or risk?
Host Andreas Fill kicked off the conference with a discourse on the subject of "the new digital world of work – the CORE principle". Industry 4.0 is a relatively young, excessively used term, which is often represented complexly and misleadingly. In the foreground, there is the relationship between machines and systems. In an already particularly dynamic working world, fear and prejudice prevail in connection with digitalization. In times when real and virtual worlds are gradually coalescing, a legitimate question is raised: Will people fall by the wayside? Andreas Fill outlined the answer to this question in a live demonstration of the unique CORE communication tool, which puts people at the center of attention and – regardless of the industry – significantly affects the success of a company. On the journey through the digital world of Fill, the tremendous opportunities and potential of the seamless networking of all employees come to the fore and people realize: Software that operates intuitively is more than just the intelligent stringing together of zeros and ones; in fact, it forms the basis for a meaningful corporate philosophy – the CORE principle.
