PREMIERE OF THE LONG NIGHT OF APPRENTICESHIPS

Industry/Machine Engineering/Employees

Around 200 people attended "Jobnight – Long Night of Apprenticeships and other Cool Jobs" at Fill Machine Engineering on 20 October 2017. The Innviertel-based company offers exciting apprenticeships and many other jobs with good prospects.

As part of an extensive program, Fill provided young people and their companions with information about various careers for which the successful company offers apprenticeships. During a tour of the plant, the Fill apprentices presented the company and provided insights into the daily work in their areas, as well as information about career opportunities and prospects for future employees. The evening also highlighted entry opportunities for specialists, skilled workers and college/university graduates who are seeking a new challenge. Some 200 people accepted the invitation to the first ever Jobnight held by the Austrian engineering company.

Gurten, 23 October 2017 - The Long Night got underway at 4:00 pm with a company presentation in the impressive Fill Future Dome. The visitors were then given insights into the different areas of the company, with a focus on apprenticeships. In the training workshops and at various stations in the production hall, the apprentices told them everything they need to know about an apprenticeship at Fill, ranging from the training concept and the Fill Academy, to social skills, through to additional benefits and career opportunities that the company offers its employees. The apprentice coaches and the personnel management team were on hand to answer any questions that the visitors had. One particular highlight of the Long Night of Apprenticeships were the VR glasses, which allowed the visitors to explore a Fill system from a virtual perspective.

Fill my future
Anyone who thought they would have to move to a big city to find an attractive job with international prospects were left pleasantly surprised on 20 October. The internationally successful machine engineering company Fill is based in the small town of Gurten, in the heart of the Innviertel. The fields of work that it offers are interesting and diverse. "We offer young and enthusiastic people various options for kick-starting their career with a comprehensive apprenticeship. Dedicated employees are rewarded with good opportunities to climb the ladder. Four of the current coaches began their career as apprentices here at Fill," says CEO Wolfgang Rathner.

Attractive apprenticeships
Fill has a state-of-the-art training workshop, where the young men and women are professionally trained as machining technicians, mechanical engineers, mechantronics engineers, electrical engineers, and designers. As soon as they have completed their basic training in the workshop, the apprentices are integrated into the different production areas and operational processes. In addition to technical training, they attend courses in the areas of social skills and character development. Of course, Fill also supports those who are combining an apprenticeship with the Higher School Certificate.

Benefits for the Fill team
Fill Machine Engineering is known as an attractive employer throughout Austria. In addition to interesting fields of work with an international orientation, Fill employees also enjoy a wide range of benefits. The "Fill your family" project, for example, was launched to help employees strike a better balance between work and family life. It offers attractive and flexible working time models and flextime for all office and shop floor staff (including apprentices). Fill also provides in-house childcare at Planet Filli Future for one to fourteen-year-olds. Furthermore, the partners and families of employees are always welcome to come along to company events such as the summer party, fall excursion, advent party, skiing trip, and concerts. An on-site restaurant, a 24-hour gym, and regular sports events (yoga, fitness training) also help the Fill team to achieve an optimum work-like balance.
