The 100th saw module goes to Japan

Wet cutting boosts bandsaw sales at Fill Machine Engineering.

The one hundredth bandsaw module "Made by Fill" has been delivered to Japanese company Karimoku. The new generation of Fill speedliner hybrid bandsaws makes it possible. The lamellae are cut from wet timber, making their production significantly more economical.

Gurten, 25 November 2014 –  The issue of wet cutting is increasing bandsaw sales appreciably at Fill Machine Engineering. The reason for this is the new generation of speedliner hybrid bandsaws. It facilitates significantly more economical production of lamellae by cutting them from wet wood. Wet cutting saves time, energy, and drying chamber capacity. It results in a massive increase in productivity and wood yield from solid timber processing. A competitive advantage that more and more companies are utilizing.

One hundredth module to Japan
With Fill´s representative in Japan, DKSH Japan K.K., acting as a mediator, Japanese company Karimoku, one of the country´s leading solid timber processor´s, ordered the one hundredth "anniversary bandsaw module". Successful preliminary acceptance by a delegation from Karimoku and DKSH took place at the beginning of September at the Fill plant in Gurten, Upper Austria. "The demand for our new sawing technology is developing very positively. The precision, performance, and, above all, flexibility of our speedliner hybrid bandsaws win over potential purchasers. The modular system allows individual customer requirements to be implemented," explains Erwin Altendorfer, Manager of the Wood Competence Center at Fill. Virtually all renowned European industrial board and parquet production companies plus numerous overseas businesses number among Fill´s satisfied customers in this sector.

Modular system
In order to avoid time-consuming arrangements of precutting and final cutting saws, Fill Machine Engineering increasingly recommends the proven concept of modular saw lines. The number of saw heads can thereby be adapted individually and freely configured to meet actual requirements. In combination with high-performance loading and unloading systems, these system concepts offer unsurpassed cost effectiveness.
