"BEST IDEA MANAGEMENT 2013" FOR INNVIERTEL-BASED MACHINE ENGINEERING COMPANY

"BEST IDEA MANAGEMENT 2013" FOR INNVIERTEL-BASED MACHINE ENGINEERING COMPANY

Industry/Machine Engineering/Innovation/Award

"Best Idea Management 2013" for Innviertel-based machine engineering company

ÖPWZ-Forum KVP & Innovation´s Idea Management Award goes to Fill Machine Engineering in Gurten.

In June 2013, the ÖPWZ-Forum KVP & Innovation presented Fill with the "Best Idea Management 2013" award during the Idea Management & Innovation Congress. A jury of international experts evaluated the idea management processes submitted by the companies according to clearly defined criteria. Fill was thereby able to impress the jury with its system and the strategic integration of it into the company. "Fill anchors its idea management sustainably in the corporate culture. It is really filled with life," said jury chairman Hans-Jürgen Mundt from the Idea Management Center in Frankfurt, explaining the reason for the award.

Salzburg/Gurten, 1 July 2013 – Only the best of the best receive the Idea Management Awards of the ÖPWZ (Austrian Productivity and Profitability Center) Forum KVP & Innovation each year. The prize for the "Best Idea Management 2013" went this year to the Fill machine engineering company from Gurten, Upper Austria. The clear system and the strategic integration into the company turned the decision in favor of the machine and plant engineering company. "This is an acknowledgment of our work and proof that idea management and innovation are far more than catchwords at Fill; they are a daily reality. The award goes to the whole team," announced CEO Andreas Fill happily.

Idea management as part of the corporate strategy
Modern idea management promotes the economic upswing and supports an innovative corporate climate. It serves as a strategic tool with economic potential. Fill impressed the jury with the clear objectives and the strategic integration into the company. At Fill every idea submitted is first examined by an ideas team, then categorized into "FIFA ideas" ("Fill In Form Active"), product ideas or innovation ideas, depending on the content of the idea. During the innovation process, the ideas undergo a standardized process in the form of an idea profile. They are then assessed according to the criteria degree of innovation, customer acceptance, investment/costs and lead over the market. The goals of the Fill Idea Management are included every year in the balance scorecard, analogous to other corporate goals. The degree of fulfillment is evaluated every quarter and goes into the company´s own indicator system. In this way the idea management system is sustainably anchored in the Fill corporate culture and is practiced in the daily working routine, and this was the reason given by the ÖPWZ-Forum KVP & Innovation for the award going to Fill Machine Engineering.

TRANSPARENCY CREATES AN ADVANTAGE

TRANSPARENCY CREATES AN ADVANTAGE

Fill Machine Engineering Media Service April 2013

Industry/Machine Engineering/Innovation

Transparency creates an advantage

Life Cycle Costing Calculator enables an overview of a product or system´s lifecycle from a financial perspective.

The Life Cycle Costing Calculator (LCCC) provides operators and manufacturers with maximum transparency in calculating actual costs for products to be priced or ones that have been quoted. It allows the exact breakeven point to be determined, taking into account all the costs incurred. This innovative software has been developed by Fill Machine Engineering. Now LCCC is set for its market launch in collaboration with Partner Catalysts GmbH, a Linz-based company specializing in software development.

Gurten, 09 April 2013 – Normally, the costs for new machines depend on a variety of factors, thereby decreasing transparency  and making comparisons between products available on the market virtually impossible. Time and again, unexpected costs, which were not included beforehand in the pricing calculations of a seemingly inexpensive quotation, arise in day-to-day operations. "The data supplied by the LCCC can provide our customers with an informational advantage. It makes products comparable and their actual breakeven point visible," says Andreas Fill, CEO of Fill Machine Engineering.

Knowledge is the key to success
The newly developed LCCC software supplies an accurate overview of acquisition and operating costs. These are broken down further into production, maintenance, and usage costs. This allows an overall financial picture to be gained of a product´s lifecycle down to the very last detail. Thanks to the precise breakdown of all individual cost factors incurred, any necessary financing can be planned in a much better way. It is also particularly useful that variable cost trends (for example, energy costs) are included in the calculation. Moreover, the LCCC allows transparent quotations to be created as simply as possible.

Multiple benefits
The Life Cycle Costing Calculator creates an advantage through transparency and offers multiple benefits. It provides valuable information concerning profitability, quality, and service life, which is used as the basis for product development. Furthermore, it allows quotations to be structured transparently and supplies customers with an actual price and quality comparison. The LCCC significantly improves the calculability of investments and makes it very visible.
