FILL EXHIBITION STAND THE HOT SPOT FOR INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITES INDUSTRY

Fill exhibition stand the hot spot for international composites industry
At the JEC Composites Show 2012 in Paris, the Fill exhibition stand became a very popular communications platform. High-tech, "Made in Austria" solutions made a convincing impression.

A real "who´s who" of the international composites industry met up on the Fill Machine Engineering stand at the leading showcase exhibition, the JEC Composites Show, from 27 to 29 March 2012 in Paris. Fill succeeded in scoring highly with the specialist audience with tailor-made customer solutions in the automotive, energy, aerospace, sports, construction, and housing sectors. The exhibition stand with integrated Fill Lounge is developing more and more into the popular meeting point for the industry.

Gurten/Paris, 12 April 2012  The automation and linking of processes is one of Fill´s core areas of expertise. "We provide our customers with concepts that meet their individual requirements. Visitors in Paris were able to see our diverse solutions expertise for themselves. The extremely positive feedback shows that we succeeded in impressing them," says Wilhelm Rupertsberger, Manager of the Plastics Competence Center at Fill. The preforming liner former, the efficiency control cockpit plant information system, and the ultrasonic inspection linear ultrasound inspection system were the center of interest.

Successful technology transfer
With the expertise of the global market leader in ski production systems, Fill now also scores highly in the production of carbon structural parts for the automotive industry. With such technical innovations as the development of a setting fixture for producing flanges used in rotor blades for wind turbines or the novel welding system for plastic absorbers used in producing thermal collectors, Fill has made a successful entry into this emerging market. Moreover, a great deal of demand for automated production systems in these fields was to be seen at the JEC Composites Show. And this is precisely where one of Fill´s strengths lies.

Lightweight engineering gaining ground in the automotive sector
Lightweight construction is becoming increasingly important in the field of composite materials. This technology is on the advance, particularly in the automotive sector. Fill manufactures production systems for such lightweight components as CFRP structural parts, roof modules, interior parts, and bumpers. The preforming liner allows 2-dimensional parts to be transformed into a customer-defined, 3-dimensional free form (3-D) in a reliable, fully automatic process. Extremely short cycle times, high repeat accuracy, low-warpage textile handling, and the high-precision introduction of heat into the textile are further quality characteristics of the preforming liner, which made such a convincing impression in Paris.
