Flexible production systems from Fill Machine Engineering presented at the Fakuma international trade fair for plastics processing in Friedrichshafen. 

Fill systems are characterized by new plastic and process technologies, which make them the most innovative and productive systems in the industry. The Upper Austrian machine engineering experts presented their latest developments at the Fakuma plastics trade fair, held in Friedrichshafen from 14 to 18 October. The company also presented its own application technology center for customer tests.

Cross-border innovation
The new FOX LAB application technology center was also presented at the exhibition. The center is the result of a collaboration between Fill Machine Engineering and the Northern Bavarian precision injection molding company OECHSLER. The FOX LAB is available for future application experiments relating to industrial contracts and research projects, as well as for technology demonstrations and customer training. To further enhance Fill´s industrialization expertise in the fields of upscaling, simulation, automation, and data/image processing, materials and process specialists work successfully in Application Engineering on the development, evaluation, and implementation of integrated, often variothermal, plastics engineering processes. Systematic cross-border innovation in collaboration with selected industrial and university partners allows application- and segment-specific solutions for intelligent lightweight engineering to be developed here by applying local-functionalized materials utilization and innovative tool concepts.

"One World Solar Collector" world premiere
The Sunlumo "One World Solar Collector" was presented to the global public for the first time on 14 October at the Fill exhibition stand at Fakuma. This collector, made entirely of polymeric materials, is lightweight as well as easy to assemble and recycle. Around 500,000 collectors per year can be produced in a fully automated manufacturing facility developed by Fill. This will make plastic solar-thermal systems more functional and attractive in future and, above all, will increase efficiency in production. The One World Solar Collector is resistant against thermal and climatic influences and it supports heating systems and hot water preparation.

Flexible Produktionssysteme von Fill Maschinenbau auf der internationalen Kunststoffmesse Fakuma in Friedrichshafen vorgestellt. 

Neuartige Werkstoff- und Verfahrenstechnologien zeichnen die Maschinen und Anlagen von Fill aus und machen diese zu den innovativsten und produktivsten der Branche. Auf der Kunststoffmesse Fakuma die vom 14. bis 18. Oktober in Friedrichshafen stattfand, zeigten die oberösterreichischen Maschinenbauexperten ihre neuesten Entwicklungen. Auch ein eigenes Anwendungstechnikum für Kundenversuche wurde vorgestellt.

Davon konnten sich die vielen internationalen Besucher am Fill Messestand auf der Fakuma in Friedrichshafen überzeugen. Der österreichische Sondermaschinenbauer und Systemintegrator entwickelt und liefert komplette Prozessketten für die Produktion. Vom Rohmaterial bis zum fertig geprüften Bauteil.

„Cross-border Innovation“
Auf der Messe wurde auch das neue Anwendungstechnikum „FOX LAB“ präsentiert. Dieses entstand in Kooperation von Fill Maschinenbau mit dem Präzisionsspritzgussunternehmen OECHSLER aus Nordbayern. Für zukünftige Applikationsversuche im Rahmen von Industrieaufträgen und Forschungsvorhaben sowie Technologiedemonstrationen und Kundenschulungen steht das „FOX LAB“ zur Verfügung. Die Industrialisierungskompetenz von Fill in den Bereichen Upscaling, Simulation, Automatisierung und Daten-/Bildverarbeitung ergänzend, arbeiten im „Application Engineering“ Werkstoff- und Verfahrensspezialisten erfolgreich an der Entwicklung, Evaluierung und Umsetzung integrierter, oft variothermer Kunststoffverarbeitungsprozesse. Eine systematische „Cross-border Innovations“ in Kooperation mit ausgewählten industriellen und universitären Partnern lässt hier durch lokal-funktionalisierten Werkstoffeinsatz und neuartige Werkzeugkonzepte anwendungs- und segmentspezifische Lösungen für intelligenten Leichtbau entstehen.

Weltpremiere „Eine-Welt-Solar-Kollektor“
Erstmals wurde am 14. Oktober am Fill Messestand auf der Fakuma der „Eine-Welt-Solar-Kollektor“ von Sunlumo der Weltöffentlichkeit präsentiert. Dieser Kollektor, der zu 100 Prozent aus polymeren Werkstoffen besteht, ist leicht an Gewicht sowie einfach zu montieren und zu recyceln. Auf einer von Fill entwickelten, vollautomatischen Produktionsanlage können im Jahr ca. 500.000 Kollektoren hergestellt werden. Dadurch können solarthermische Systeme aus Kunststoff künftig funktionsfähiger, optisch attraktiver und vor allem wirtschaftlicher produziert werden. Der Eine-Welt-Solar-Kollektor ist beständig gegen thermische und klimatische Einflüsse und unterstützt die Warmwasseraufbereitung sowie Heizungsanlagensysteme.

At Aluminium 2014 on 7-9 October this year, Fill Machine Engineering used the motto "The Art of Perfection" in presenting the latest developments in the processing of lightweight aluminum and metal components. Thanks to intelligent process chaining, series production is more precise and more productive. The Austrian machine engineering experts have taken an important step in the direction of efficiency in energy consumption and resource savings, while simultaneously increasing productivity, driving the development of lightweight automobile production forwards.

Auf der Aluminium 2014 vom 7. bis 9. Oktober präsentierte Fill Maschinenbau unter dem Motto „The Art of Perfection“ die neuesten Entwicklungen in der Be- und Verarbeitung von Leichtbaukomponenten aus Aluminium und Metall. Highly efficient process technologies for lightweight composite construction in the (wind) energy, automotive, and aerospace sectors presented at Composites 2014 in Düsseldorf. 

Laying processes for dry knits, stack production lines, the automation of ultrasonic applications, RTM systems with vertical injection molding presses and CNC robot systems increase productivity and process reliability. New laying processes, stack spot welding and ultrasonic applications
Textile handling of prepregs on Fill high-speed systems opens up new possibilities in terms of speed and precision. In doing so, dry materials up to a width of 3000 mm are laid without creasing, at high speed. After laying the stack superstructure, the layers need to be joined. In the new technology developed by Fill together with Ravensburg-Weingarten University and Alba Tooling & Engineering GmbH, the layers are joined by means of electrical energy, thereby utilizing the conductivity of carbon (stack spot welding). A milestone in industrial production in terms of efficiency and precision. In various inspection processes, Fill employs ultrasound technology (pulse/echo, through-transmission), thereby inspecting carbon parts highly effectively for potential faults.

Neue Legeprozesse, Stack Spot Welding und Ultraschallanwendungen
Textiles Handling von Prepregs auf Fill-Hochgeschwindigkeitsanlagen eröffnet neue Möglichkeiten hinsichtlich Geschwindigkeit und Präzision. Dabei werden trockene Materialien bis zu einer Breite von 3000 mm faltenfrei mit hoher Geschwindigkeit abgelegt. Nach dem Legen der Stack-Aufbauten gilt es, die Lagen zu verbinden. Bei der von Fill gemeinsam mit der Hochschule Ravensburg-Weingarten und der Alba Tooling & Engineering GmbH neu entwickelten Technologie werden die Lagen mittels elektrischer Energie verbunden. Dabei wird die Leitfähigkeit von Carbon genutzt (Stack Spot Welding). Ein Meilenstein in der industriellen Produktion hinsichtlich Effizienz und Präzision. In verschiedenen Prüfprozessen wird von Fill die Ultraschalltechnologie (Puls/Echo, Durchschallung) eingesetzt. Dabei werden Carbonteile höchst wirksam auf mögliche Fehler geprüft.

Mit den „Superhelden der Zerspanung“ präsentierte Fill Maschinenbau auf der AMB 2014 (Internationale Ausstellung für Metallbearbeitung) vom 16. bis 20. September in Stuttgart völlig neue Produktionsmöglichkeiten. Ob Aluminium, Stahl oder andere Werkstoffe, die syncromill-Bearbeitungszentren aus dem Hause Fill führen unterschiedliche Bearbeitungsschritte in herausragender Qualität durch. Das wirtschaftliche und innovative Maschinenkonzept ermöglicht die Produktion großer Stückzahlen in höchster Präzision.

Die wesentlichen Trends in der industriellen Produktion gehen Richtung Effizienz im Energieverbrauch, Ressourcenschonung und höherer Produktivität. Dies steht natürlich in direkter Verbindung mit der Automatisierung um die zerspanende Werkzeugmaschine. Die Verkettung der Produktionsprozesse steht seit Jahren im Zentrum der Entwicklungsarbeit bei Fill Maschinenbau und zählt zu den Kernkompetenzen des oberösterreichischen Unternehmens.
