FILL MACHINE ENGINEERING INVESTS ANOTHER 7.5 MILLION EUROS IN ITS GURTEN PLANT |
Industry/Machine Engineering/Upper Austria/Investment Innviertel-based high-tech company continues on its course of expansion. 5,000 square meters of new production space is being created. Fill remains on course for growth. In order to ensure the proven quality of the internationally successful machine engineering company for the long term, the production facility is being expanded. In the upcoming months, 5,000 square meters of additional production space for assembling machines and systems will be created. The electrical workshop area will also be doubled in size. A total of 7.5 million euros is being invested in the company´s headquarters in the Innviertel. All construction work is being carried out by companies from the region or elsewhere in Upper Austria. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for late March 2018. Gurten, 04 December 2017 – "With the enlargement of our production facility, we are creating sufficient space for optimum assembly conditions in light of increasing demands on capacity," explains proprietor and CEO Andreas Fill. The work is progressing swiftly, and the topping-out ceremony was held in late November. As things stand, the halls will be completely enclosed, the roof mounted, and the gates and doors installed in the first half of December this year. By the end of 2017, the new assembly halls will be winterproof. The interior works will then commence at the beginning of next year. All three hall sections will be completed successively by the end of March. Ten new electric charging stations The stilt-based construction style in which the new halls are being built has allowed attractive, covered parking spaces to be created for employees underneath the assembly area. In order to be prepared for e-mobility and completely in line with the successful company’s innovative spirit, ten electric charging stations will also be provided in this area. These will be made available to employees free of charge for charging their electric vehicles. Furthermore, erection of a large photovoltaic system is planned, which will supply environmentally-friendly energy to the production facility and to the electric charging stations in future. High-performance Fill multilayer laying system impresses at Fakuma international trade fair. Leading plastics experts meet in Gurten.
LEADING-EDGE INNVIERTEL TECHNOLOGY ENSURES COST-EFFECTIVE PLASTICS PROCESSING |
Industry/Machine Engineering/Plastics/Trade Fair Leading-edge Innviertel technology ensures cost-effective plastics processing The Innviertel region is becoming a technology hot spot of the international plastics scene. Fill Machine Engineering is setting the tone with innovations such as the multilayer high-performance laying system. At the Fakuma trade fair from October 17 to 21, 2017 in Friedrichshafen, the machine engineering experts presented spectacular new developments for the efficient processing of thermoplastics which amazed the international trade visitors. In November, 150 international experts gathered in Gurten for the FSK conference to discuss the future of polyurethane processing. Friedrichshafen/Gurten, November 27, 2017 – The multilayer high-performance tape laying system and the vaporless processing of particle foams impressed the international experts attending the Fakuma 2017 trade fair. With these developments, Fill has taken a decisive step toward cost-effective production of thermoplastics. These two technologies play a significant role in lightweight construction in particular. "The tape laying process with multilayer is the preliminary process for injection molders who produce components with fiber reinforcement. Vaporless particle foam processes are required in the sport and leisure sector and, above all, in lightweight automotive engineering," explains Wilhelm Rupertsberger, head of the Plastics Competence Center at Fill. The altogether positive feedback and many concrete negotiation talks with numerous customers and trade visitors on the Fill exhibition stand made for the best of spirits among the Fill team. FSK conference at Fill in Gurten On November 7 and 8, 2017, the international foam plastics trade was a guest of Fill in Gurten. The FSK is a leading German trade association for foam plastics and polyurethane. Fill is a member of this association and Wilhelm Rupertsberger is the professional group´s deputy spokesman. 150 experts in polyurethane processing spent two days in the Innviertel region. The Fill Future Dome proved to be an ideal location for this prestigious event. The diverse potential applications of polyurethane were presented in the specialist lectures. The spectrum extends from novel refrigeration units to highly loaded leaf springs through to innovative engine compartment covers. Innovation award for automated spot repair system During the conference, the technical committee presented innovation awards across all aspects of polyurethane processing. In the field of industrial applications, Fill won the innovation award with its automated spot repair system for plywood. This retouches surface flaws (cracks, holes, etc.) in boards with polyurethane. A key function of this system technology is the automatic detection of surface flaws by a camera system. The event was rounded off with a relaxing and atmospheric evening at the rustic Loryhof in Wippenham, where the guests enjoyed Innviertel specialties, lively discussions, and live music from Fill´s "Woodworm" band.
