WET CUTTING WITH THE HIGHEST PRECISION

WET CUTTING WITH THE HIGHEST PRECISION

Wet cutting with the highest precision
The speedliner 920-350 high-performance band saw enables cost-effective production of lamellae with wet wood for the first time.

The speedliner bandsaws from Fill allow considerable savings in time, energy and drying chamber capacity. Wet cutting in the production of lamellae can be carried out with the highest sawing precision and a kerf of 1.2 mm. This is predominantly attributable to the high-quality plate chain in combination with an extremely narrow kerf. "When parquet lamellae are cut dry, the sawn timber normally spends four to six weeks in the drying chamber beforehand. With wet cutting, the drying time is only two to three days," says Erwin Altendorfer, Head of the Fill Competence Center Wood, summarizing the advantage of the speedliner high-performance band saws.

Gurten, 17 July 2012 – The Fill speedliner 920-350 combines the highest degree of precision with capacity and flexibility in the production of parquet and multilayer board. Extremely fast, with speeds of up to 60 meters per minute, a sawing precision of +/- 0.1 mm, and kerfs as narrow as 0.9 mm, the speedliner band saws are capable of cutting even the hardest woods. The high-quality fill premium kerf saw bands have been developed to ensure optimal use of the raw materials. A choice of hard metal and stellite saw blades may be used for wet and dry cutting.

Modular system
In order to avoid time-consuming arrangements of precutting and final cutting saws, Fill increasingly recommends the proven concept of modular saw lines. The number of saw heads can thereby be adapted individually and freely configured to meet the demands of the particular application. In combination with high-performance loading and unloading systems, these line concepts offer unsurpassed cost effectiveness.
